Product Overview
Travel Wallet is an Alipay wallet product designed for foreign tourists and short-term visitors who need to spend money in mainland China. Users can activate Travel Wallet in Alipay, receive funds through cross-border remittance or receiving services, and use the balance for eligible domestic consumption in China.
- Target users: Foreign passport holders visiting China for travel or short-term stays. Note:Travel wallet requires users to activate it in advance.
- Product positioning: Travel Wallet is a separate fund-receiving product from “bank-card payout” and ordinary Alipay balance payout.
- Use of funds: Funds are intended for domestic consumption in China. Investment, real-estate transactions, transfers, red packets, and similar non-travel consumption scenarios are not supported.
- Fee note: Cross-border remittance fees are subject to the remittance institution’s page and order details.
- Withdrawal limitation: Travel Wallet balance currently does not support withdrawal or outbound transfer. Users should top up or receive funds based on actual travel spending needs.
